Exquisite Creatures Patterns

🪸🦎🦀 This collection of patterns was inspired by the Exquisite Creatures exhibition, currently at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. I was overwhelmed and in awe with all of the patterns, shapes, and colors of the natural world! I love how the artist played with color and shape, it made me want to too! I had fun making these come to life 😁

I experimented with different tools to create simple to complex patterns. Then took it further by creating mockups to see them in real life applications.

👨‍🎨 Exhibit by Artist & Naturalist: Christopher Marley
First Print Inspiration: Xingu River ray, white-blotched river stingray, or polka-dot stingray is a species of freshwater fish in the family Potamotrygonidae. I created similar shapes as the spots on the stingrays in #adobeillustrator

Second Print Inspiration: Small Common Chameleon. Using #watercolor paints I loosely painted a print inspired by the skin/color of the brightly colored chameleon.

Third Print Inspiration: Charybdis feriata – crucified crab. Experimenting with the pattern maker on the #adobecaptureapp, I created this kaleidoscope pattern with a closeup of the pattern on the crab.
